recordcollector1972 is a collaborative YouTube channel. Its primary creative output is in the form of mashups thinly disguised as YouTube Music uploads; the bait-and-switch element of the channel is based on the YouTube channel SiIvaGunner, which similarly uploads "high quality rips" of video game music.
History[]
After the Music - Topic channel was terminated, members of that channel, which included the likes of Various Hobbies, Declan B., TheGuy, etc., tried to find a new channel to replace it, which eventually led to the creation of recordcollector1972. It was founded on February 14, 2018, and would start uploading FLACs the following month, starting with "Heart - Crazy On You (HQ Audio)" on March 9, 2018.
A lot of the FLACs and jokes from the previous channel were carried over to the new channel, mostly being altered to fit with the new format. However, as the channel would go on, new memes started appearing throughout the FLACs, such as Die Young and Dunkaccino. Events, big and small, are also celebrated every now and then, such as celebrity birthdays and Bastille Day.
